About

I am a Nuyorican researcher and educator serving as an adjunct lecturer and Director of Master's Program Administration in the Department of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. My work brings together interests in forensic mental health, victimology, trauma, coercive control, and cultic studies.

A personal philosophy I live by is bloom where planted. I approach each role with curiosity, intention, and a willingness to grow while contributing meaningfully to the people and communities around me. Whether through scholarship, teaching, or creative work, I value thoughtful communication, meticulous organization, and collaboration that leads to lasting improvement.

Current Work

My current research examines trauma-coerced attachment, or trauma bonding, in cultic groups. My broader scholarly work has explored interpersonal violence, in both intimate partner violence and cults. Alongside research, I teach undergraduate psychology and contribute to academic program administration.

I am continuing to develop my research and teaching experience as I prepare for doctoral study in clinical psychology.

Selected research: An Application of the Coercive Control Framework to Cults · Confessions in Intimate Partner Homicide

Creative Practice

Outside my academic and professional work, I enjoy pursuing creative projects and interests that allow me to approach ideas from different perspectives. My creative practice spans community engagement, graphic design, copy editing, video editing and directing, poetry, costume design, makeup artistry, and interior design.

I value the balance between analytical thinking and creative expression, and I enjoy bringing both to the work I do.
